We never use hexane-extracted oils:
Hexane is a chemical solvent used in industrial processing to extract oils from seeds. It’s a petroleum-based compound that can leave chemical residues and has been linked to neurological and nerve damage with long-term exposure. Our oils are cold-pressed and hexane-free — pure, nutrient-rich, and safe for your skin.

Ricin-Free Castor Oil:
Ricin is a water-based protein toxin found only in the solid castor bean — never in the oil. Cosmetic-grade castor oil is carefully refined and filtered to remove any trace impurities. During extraction, ricin remains trapped in the leftover bean mash (called castor cake), which is discarded or used for industrial purposes, never in cosmetics. The oil itself is then filtered, clarified, and heat-treated to destroy any residual proteins. The result is a pure, ricinoleic-acid-rich oil that’s safe and deeply nourishing for lips, skin, and scalp.
